It’s the most wonderful time of the year yet again, and there’s nothing quite like a freshly-cut Christmas tree and the scent of pine to help get you into the Christmas spirit. To help you set the holidays into motion, Secret D.C. mapped out a few places where you can find your perfect Christmas tree, and even cut it down yourself, for an awesome holiday-themed outing!
1. Olde City Farm & Garden
Pick up a freshly-cut tree at Olde City Farm along with any other luscious greenery you can think of! The center is hosting special Christmas tree hours starting this Black Friday on Nov. 27.

2. Greenstreet Gardens
This Alexandria garden has plenty of freshly-cut trees to go around, not to mention its wide variety of holiday foliage, the perfect add on to your Christmas décor.

3. Modlins’ Tree Farm
At this Maryland farm, you’ll not only find gorgeous trees ready to take come but also plenty of handmade wreaths and fresh garlands to deck out your home. Modlins’ also offers freshly made hot cocoa, cider and coffee so you can warm up after a day of Christmas tree hunting!

4. Clemsonville Christmas Tree Farm
If you’re looking for affordable-yet-beautiful trees, Clemsonville Farm sells trees starting at $30. Plus, they’re home to a giant, 50-foot-tall “everlasting” Christmas tree made entirely out of limestone rock!

5. Moose Apple Christmas Tree Farm
The farm has a wide selection of freshly-cut trees and cut-your-own, like a choose your own adventure!

6. Valley Star Farm
Located in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley, at Valley Star Farms you’ll get to pick out cut down your own tree while enjoying breathtaking views of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Plus you can support our troops with your visit since they encourage donations to the Christmas Spirit Foundation). Oh, and don’t forget to check out the stunning Luray Caverns before heading over to the farm, they’re just a stone’s throw away!

7. Dan & Bryan Christmas Trees
Pretty much D.C. Christmas Tree royalty, Dan & Bryan Trees has been around for over half a century and has provided trees for the likes of senator Edward Kennedy and first lady Barbara Bush, and was also in charge of providing the White House Christmas tree back in 2009. Formerly known as Sundback Trees, the farm specializes in Douglas and Fraser Firs and has trees of all shapes and sizes. Their D.C. location has freshly cut trees but if you’d like to cut your own make sure to head on out to their Shepherdstown Farm!

8. Friends of the National Arboretum Christmas Tree Sale
Every year the Friends of the National Arboretum (FONA) puts on a Fundraiser sell where you can buy Christmas trees, wreathes, and garlands to help raise money for the arboretum. This year, you can stop by and purchase on December 7th in the York Avenue parking lot from 10am to 4pm. There’s also the option to pre-order trees to be delivered to your house or picked up at the lot.
